QUIT PANIC ATTACKS

COMPLETELY

FOR EVER

Just As I Did, Over Thirty Years Ago

Here's My Personal Story .... From Panic to Recovery

I suffered panic attacks for nine long, miserable, years. My GP sent me to all manner of consultants and they all said the same thing. 'I can find nothing wrong with you'.

All tests, examinations and x-rays proved negative. One consultant even said that I was a hypochondriac. I knew that wasn’t true. I knew I was physically ill. Yet no-one believed me. Until…..

I was referred to the late Dr Claude Lum, a respiratory consultant . And when the day dawned for my appointment, I can tell you that the only reason I attended was out of sheer curiosity. I really had no hope of a positive outcome from such a visit because, well, what connection could there possibly be between a respiratory consultant and panic attacks?

I quickly found out.

Dr Lum diagnosed that I was suffering from Chronic Habitual Hyperventilation Syndrome (HVS). A debilitating, insidious illness caused through  breathing in a dysfunctional way.

It sounds really off the wall doesn’t it? Yet I’m living proof that panic attacks and dozens of other seemingly inexplicable symptoms are caused through an incorrect breathing pattern.

So, I diligently followed Dr. Lum's breathing re-training programme and my panic attacks gradually disappeared.

I HAVEN’T HAD A PANIC ATTACK IN OVER THIRTY YEARS

So there you have it. My personal journey from panic to recovery.

NOW TAKE A LOOK AT THE FOLLOWING . . . . .

ARE ANY OF THESE SYMPTOMS FAMILIAR TO YOU?

Panic attacks
Physical or mental depression
Free-floating anxiety
Spaced out feelings
Acute tiredness, lethargy and weakness
Stomach disturbances
Frequent migraine or bad headaches
Palpitations and/or rapid heartbeat
Disturbed sleep
Agoraphobia
Claustrophobia
Lack of concentration
Memory deficiency
Inexplicable pains in limbs
Chest pains
Faintness or fainting fits
Excessive yawning and sighing

The above list is by no means comprehensive and any individual may experience several or even just one symptom - all caused through breathing incorrectly. I guess you may think, just as I did, that this is too strange to be believed. How can breathing in and out, in and out, in and out have anything to do with panic attacks and all those symptoms listed above? Well now, here's the rub. Breathing in a dysfunctional manner alters the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the body. And, as dysfunctional breathing continues, any organ in the body can be attacked; symptoms even masquerading as a life threatening illness, such as cancer, heart condition, etc.

So, how is it that this conundrum isn't picked up by medical practitioners? Because this condition (known as chronic Hyperventilation Syndrome. HVS for short) will never show up in any routine tests or examinations.. Therefore, HVS is frequently and incorrectly diagnosed as being a mental problem, an emotional issue, anxiety state.

HVS is an insidious, physical illness. A sufferer is likely to feel generally unwell and, as time passes, symptoms become more debilitating.

The media hands out an overwhelming amount of conflicting information on the cause of panic attacks, how to live with them, manage, control them.  Just imagine how fantastic it will be when you quit panic attacks altogether.
